The trio Les Grands Hurleurs celebrated their 10th anniversary on the 4th of December by releasing their fourth album entitled Chouïa. A fine crowd gathered for the occasion at Montreal’s Lion d’Or. Chouïa means a small quantity, a tiny bit of. It seemed appropriate since the band evolved with baby steps, and their music combines a little bit of trad, a little bit of classical, little bits of percussion, electricity, and ambience. The album features guest appearances by Jorane, Élage Diouf, and Quatuor esca. The band also rerecorded one song from each of their previous albums: Chez moi, Trégate, and Corsaire.
